2008 Tour de France MapThe 2008 Tour starts in Brittany. After about a week of mostly flat stages, the race begins to sort itself out on the first mountain stage on July 13 when the race heads into the Pyrenees. There are four cat 4 climbs, a cat 3 and then a Cat 1 on the Col du Peyresourde. The race climbs the Cat 1 on Col d'Aspin before descending into Bagnieres de Bigorre for the finish. The next day goes over the HC (2115m) Tourmalet before the final climb at Montee du Hautacam (1520m).

Stage 20: Cerilly - Saint Amand Montrond TT

It was a really long day today and the course was pretty flat and backlit. Stefan Schumacher won the stage, with Cancellara coming in second and Kirchen finishing third.

Carlos Sastre finished in 12th place which was enough to keep the yellow jersey into Paris tomorrow.  Cadel Evans made up enough

time to snag second place, and third place will be Bernard Kohl.  Christian Vandevelde made up a minute and a half but he's in fifth

place, so no Americans will be on the podium this year.  It's been a long time since we haven't had a spot there for anything.

Tonight is a long drive back to Paris, though not quite as bad as it sometimes is after this last time trial.

There was an early break with Martinez, Fedrigo, Schumacher and Ballan. Sylvain Chavanel finally won a Tour stage today so the French are happy.
