With the absence this year of Cancellara, Tom Boonen won his fourth Paris-Roubaix. He’s now equaled the record of Roger de Vlaeminck.
About 55k from the finish, the favorites were working their way to the front when Boonen and Niki Terpstra made a break. About 3k later, Boonen dropped Terpstra. A small chase group with Flecha, Boasson Hagen, Hayman and Stannard hoped he would crack but they never saw him. Boonen savored his victory into the stadium of cheering fans.
