Race organizers have been monitoring the tight restrictions placed upon Australian borders. Advice from the Australian Government is that there is no intention of them lifting anytime soon.
This restriction has severely hampered preparations for this years’ event and it has made it near impossible for international riders to participate in 2021.
In anticipation of this, organizers turned their attention to Australian and NZ participation and have generated more Aussie entries than ever before.
Sadly however, the slower than anticipated roll out of vaccination program within Australia has meant sudden lock downs and quarantine periods.
This current situation in NSW and Victoria has now impacted Australian core crew members and organizational staff and has created a whole lot of uncertainty amongst participants.
As a result the Croc Organization can no longer even provide any guarantees even within their national borders. Having taken all of this into consideration it is with great disappointment that the Crocodile Trophy will again be postponed until November 2022.
This decision wasn’t made on a whim and much thought was given and they apologize greatly for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Croc Trophy is a once in a lifetime experience for many competitors but with the current situation, the organization could not possibly provide an event that would stand up for the riders’ or the organizations’ expectations.
