According to an interview in Sport-Bild magazine, Jan Ullrich would like to see Armstrong’s titles returned to him.
He said that if it were up to him, he’d give Armstrong back his victories at Tour de France. Bjarne Riis was removed from the roll of honr but then re-instated the following year. Ullrich said he has no interest in taking Lance’s victories even though he finished second to Armstrong in 2000, 2001 and 2003 and second to Riis in 1996. He cited the prevalence of doping during the years they raced.
He does have to meet with the German National Anti-Doping Agency in August to explain his own indiscretions and possibly perjury issues when he swore under oath again Team Coast that he hadn’t doped while with the team.
