The men’s Argos Shimano team will take on the seven-day USA Pro Cycle Challenge with a strong and experimental team, which includes two new stagieres.
Patrick Gretsch (GER) has already experienced success in this race, winning the opening prologue in 2011, and he will help lead the team in search of more stage wins.
“We have a diverse team with both experienced and young riders,” said coach Aike Visbeek (NED). “In the sprints we can count on Luka Mezgec (SLO), and on the more undulating stages we will go on the offensive with the others.
“This will be the first race for Michael Olssen (SWE) and Niko Holler (GER), our new stagaires. They are both all-round riders who can do well in the hills but also in Time Trials, so I am looking forward to see how they develop and how they will handle racing at this level.”
