According to an article in today’s Denver Post, two women cyclists from last year’s Leadville 100 may have cheated in the race and are facing felony criminal impersonation charges. It’s alleged that Wendy Lyall used Katie Brazelton’s entry number for the 40-49 age group. Both are from Vail. They’ve confessed and have returned the second place awards that were received. It’s thought that the person who accepted the trophy was a different person than the one who was in the race. The two have been banned from future editions of the race.
