Brajkovic is this year’s Dauphine Libere winner!
Alberto Contador won stage 6 at Alpe d’Huez today but was unable to unseat race leader Brajkovic of Team Radio Shack.
Daniel Navarro won stage 5 at Chamrousse near Grenoble. The race was 17,5km at an average pitch of 7,5%. He escaped from the peloton, caught the lead group and continued the last 38k alone for the win.
Frenchman Vogondy won stage 4.
Alberto Contador won the 6.8k prologue of the Dauphine Libere in Evian-les-Bains, France in 8m 34sec. Le Mevel won stage 1 which ran from Evian to Saint Laurent du Pont. Zubeldia fractured his wrist in a big crash on stage 1 and underwent successful surgery for it. A plate was inserted into his wrist to stabilize it. It’s unknown when he’ll be able to resume racing.
