Laurent Fignon Has Died

Laurent Fignon has died of cancer at the age of 50.  He may be best remembered for losing to Greg LeMond by 8 seconds on the Champs Elysee in 1989 during the final stage of the Tour de France.  He did win the Tour twice, in 1983 and 1984.

He was passionate about cycling, so much so that he sometimes had some tantrums, as in this photo where he got off his bike in the middle of the race.
