The 2011 Tour de France route was announced on Tuesday. The race starts in the Vendee region on July 2.
It looks similar to the start in 1993 and again in 1995.
The 2011 route will include the some favorite mountains – Col du Galibier, Luz Ardiden, Col d’Agnel, Col d’Izoard, and Plateau de Beille.
Andy Schleck is happy with the route and Mark Cavendish is expecting difficult times on the climbs. Alberto Contador wasn’t present at the presentation but his absence loomed large.
