The inaugural Pedal the Plains bike ride will be September 21-23. Cyclists will ride 30-100 miles each day and will stop along the way in towns on the Eastern plains where there will be food, festivities and lodging.Some days may be in a tent and others in a b&b. Local produce is expected to be featured in many of the meals.
Details will be announced sometime in the spring. Cyclists of all ages and abilities will be welcome. Gov. Hickenlooper said this is more of a race for the rest of us, those not up to the high mountainous Ride the Rockies. There will also be an optional Grand Fondo or a family-friendly loop.
