Trek-Segafredo adds an important dose of experience to its 2022 roster with the signing of Dario Cataldo. The Team and the 36-year-old Italian rider have agreed on a one-year contract. He is the last piece of the transfer campaign for the coming season making him the 31st rider of the men’s roster and the 11th new arrival.
For Cataldo, Trek-Segafredo will be the sixth team in his long career after Liquigas, Quick-Step, Sky, Astana and, for the last two seasons, Movistar. He has a wealth of global experience, built over fifteen years dedicated to professional cycling, in which he has distinguished himself as a valuable teammate with 23 grand tours to his credit. Cataldo has also personally achieved 11 successes in his career, including the Italian time trial championship and a stage of the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España above all.

Dario Cataldo:
“I join Trek-Segafredo after several years in which I have consolidated my position as road captain and reliable domestique. It is a role in which I see myself fitting well, thanks to the experience gained in great teams and alongside strong leaders. I believe that my many years as a pro-rider are an added value in a group. The management of the race, peloton dynamics and the group harmony between different personalities are key factors in a race. We’ll have time and chance to discuss specific goals and programs at the team camp, but I already can’t wait to start.

I have known Luca since a long time, we worked together for two years in Quick-Step. I have great respect for him, both as a man and as a manager.
