Tony Longo, 28, will go on riding on a Bianchi bike for two further seasons. Italian rider and TX Active- Bianchi extended their agreement until the end of 2014.
“We were more than happy to prolongue the contract. Longo is one of the few competitive bikers both in the cross country and in the Marathon races. In 2013 we’ll focus mostly on the latter” said TX Active-Bianchi’s team manager Massimo Ghirotto.
Longo won four races on Bianchi Methanol SL2 along 2012 campaign: Valcavallina Superbike (May 27th), GF Alta Valtellina (July 29th), La Vecia Ferovia dela Val de Fiemme (August 5th) and Collombardo Superbike (September 23rd), all in Northern Italy.
“I’m really motivated with this renewal. Here I had been really fine. This year I did well in the GF races: I prefer long climbs, whilst modern XC tracks are nervous and punchy. For this reason we’ll count on marathons next year, even if we won’t turn our nose up at XC“, Longo stated.
