Bianchi is ready to celebrate Felice Gimondi’s special birthday. The former rider is just turning seventy this Saturday, September 29th.
“Il Lombardia” organizers chose Bergamo as the 106th edition departure, falling on Gimondi’s birthday. World Tour Team Vacansoleil-DCM riders will be in the action at the Italian classic wearing a new “celeste” Bianchi kit to celebrate Fausto Coppi’s five victories at the Giro di Lombardia and pay homage to Gimondi as well.
A gala night dedicated to Felice Gimondi is Friday night, September 28th, at Centro Congressi Giovanni XXIII in the heart of Bergamo.
Bianchi is Gimondi gala’s proud main sponsor. He will also have his own exhibition booth in the hospitality village at Il Lombardia’s starting area, near the new “Officina Edoardo Bianchi” store, on September 29th.
The “Gimondi week-end” will end on Sunday, with TX Active-Bianchi riders presenting a welcome gift to their president Felice Gimondi at Gimondibike, MTB international competition with start and finish in Iseo (Brescia). Bianchi is the Gimondibike’s official bike sponsor.
