Nibali on Stage 10

Nibali, along with other favorites of the race, lost time on the first mountain stage of the Tour de France in 2015 on a hot day in the Pyrenees on the border with Spain, finishing 4:25 behind stage winner Chris Froome of Britain.

In the overall standings Nibali up from thirteenth to tenth place and now plays Froome 6:57 with 11 stages of the race ahead.  He says he’s not the same as last year.

Tuesday took place on the French national holiday Bastille Day, and hundreds of thousands of fans lined up along the road in the mountains for 15 kilometers to the finish.

Nibali came to the final hill, surrounded by his teammates, but in the fight against the first attacks and accelerations lost contact with the leaders at about 9 km to the finish line.

Teammate Lars Bom did not come out at the start of the tenth stage of heat and cold, which began on Sunday before the scheduled rest day on Monday.
