Maybe Colorado National Monument for Pro Cycling Challenge?

The Park Service may reverse its previous stand on not allowing the Pro Cycling Challenge to race through the park.

They are planning to reach out for local input on whether the race and other events could be held there.  It would be a first the Park Service in the US.

Rim Rock Drive is 23 miles long and was the site of the “Tour of the Moon” stage of the old Coors Classic in the early to mid 1980s.  The local organizing committee in Grand Junction would be more than happy to be able to offer the park as part of the race route.  Until the park service makes its decision, which won’t come in time for the 2013 race, locals are hoping to include the Palisades wine country, Grand Mesa and roads close to the bottom of the monument.
