Spanish cyclist David Canada has died in the Towcar Ports Ribagorza Grand Fondo in his home region of Aragon. He and another rider crashed into each other and he fell hard when he landed on his head. He later succumbed to his injuries.
His races included the Tour de France for Saunier Duval and also raced with Mapei, ONCE and QuickStep. He retired from cycling in 2007 due to skin cancer.
He was 41 years old.
