2013 National Track Calendar

USA Cycling announces dates and locations for 2013 National Track Calendar.

The event spans 7 events at velodromes nationwide beginning May 15 with the Matrix Track Cup p/b Richardson Bike Mart at the Superdrome in Frisco, TX before culminating with the Grand Prix at the VELO Sports Center in Carson, CA
June 6-8 is the Fixed Gear Classic at the National Sports Center Velodrome in Blaine, MN.
June 14-15 is the $2500 Midwest Challenge at MTV which will be held at the Major Taylor Velodrome.
June 21-22 at the Hellyer Velodrome Challenge in San Jose, CA.
July 12-13 the country’s best track sprinters will contest the U.S. Grand Prix of Sprinting at the Velodrome at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, CO. 
July 19-21 the riders will head to the Pacific northwest to compete in the Marymoor Grand Prix at the Marymoor Velodrome in Redmond, WA.
Sept. 14 is the penultimate event – scheduled between the national championships –  the Grand Prix at the VELO Sports Center.

“We are excited to kick off the second year of the NTC,” National Events Manager Tony Leko said. “Last year’s calendar generated a lot of buzz, and we look forward to building off of that enthusiasm with another great lineup of top-level American races.”
In 2012, USA Cycling crowned four people in the final NTC standings. Zachary Kovalcik (Portland, OR/Sizzle Pie Cycling p/b Veloforma) and Cari Higgins (Boulder, CO/Exergy Twenty12) topped the men’s and women’s endurance standings, respectively. On the sprint side, Giddeon Massie (Cypress, CA/Bike Religion) and Tela Crane (Sammamish, WA/Broadmark Capital) emerged as the nation’s best.

The endurance riders will compete in points race, scratch race, individual pursuit, Madison and team pursuit. The sprinters will contest the match sprint, time trial and keirin.
