Team Colombia to Challenge the clock on Wilier Twinblade

While Team Colombia’s riders are enjoying their first rides on new 2013 Wilier Triestina Zero7 bikes it is now time to unveil the new, exclusive model time trial model.

Wilier Trestina Zero 7

Claudio Corti’s Escarabajos will show the unique Wilier Triestina Twinblade in 2013 time trials.  The colors of the Colombian flag can’t be mistaken on this very sharp frame, standing out against a black background and clearly characterizing the aerodynamic shape of the charming Wilier bike.

Twinblade’s main feature has to be found in airflow management, to maximize efficiency by diminishing air turbulence and resistance at every opportunity. Chainstays, seatstays and fork legs have a wider profile to distance them from turbulent air generated by spinning wheels. The rear brake assumes the aerodynamic lines of the frame, positioned below the chainstays at the bottom bracket. and housed in a carbon cover which encases the caliper and cables, hiding the complete assembly from the wind. The rear dropout system enables precise positioning of the rear wheel via four adjustment bolts to establish ideal wheelbase and alignment of cogset in relation to the rear derailleur, including during wheel changes. The Twin Blade also boasts an integrated seatpost binder assembly housed within the top tube, preserving seamless aerodynamics.

The official debut for new Twinblade frames is scheduled on February 7th, when the Escarabajos will start Tour of Mediterranean Stage 2, a 24 km team time trial from Ville d’Agde to Sete.
