Vincenzo Nibali takes the 2017 Taiwan KOM Challenge!

Invited by Merida, Vincenzo Nibali is leading TBM for Taiwan KOM Challenge!

An exciting news for all our fans in Asia. Invited by our title sponsor Merida, our captain Vincenzo Nibali is going to lead BAHRAIN MERIDA team with Antonio Nibali and our Taiwanese local hero Chun-Kai Feng to 2017 Taiwan KOM Challenge, which is a real hard race for climbing specialists, an ideal destination for riders looking for epic challenge. 

The one-day climbing race begins at sea level up to 3,275 meters of altitude. This 105 km route will be the test for world’s elite riders. After the first 20 km, it turns into a steady 6% average gradient until the final 9.5 km, where the riders traverse gradients from 10-22%, with the brutally steep 27.3% on their way to the finish.

Thanks to Merida’s invitation, the Shark of Messina will be the first ever rider who won all the Grand Tours to take the challenge. The day after, Vincenzo, Antonio and Feng will have a chance to meet our fans in Merida Cup on October 21st. During this visit to Asia, our general manager Brent Copeland and our communications officer Geoffrey Pizzorni are all join this great tour in Asia with the riders.
