Guillaume Martin grabbed the 2017 Giro della Toscana – Memorial Alfredo Martini, in Italy, taking the second and last stage, 165,1 Km from Lajatico to Volterra on Wednesday September 27th.
The 24-year-old French climber outdistanced his rivals on the final ascent, claiming a solo win with 10 seconds of advantage on the first chasers, Giovanni Visconti, Mattia Cattaneo and Fabricio Ferrari, second, third and fourth respectively. After stage 2 results, Martin also conquered the top of the Giro di Toscana overall standings, preceding Visconti and Cattaneo, repeating the success achieved last week at the Tour du Gévaudan, in France.
