Kristoff wins again in Abu Dhabi Tour’s opener

The 30-year-old European Champion conquered his second seasonal success, giving UAE-Team Emirates an important win in its home race

On Wednesday February 21st, the European Champion claimed the second seasonal win in Abu Dhabi Tour’s opening stage, 189 Km from Madinat Zaya to Adnoc School (United Arab Emirates), three days after the success in Tour of Oman’s final stage, on Sunday February 18th.

The 30-year-old Norwegian rider gave UAE-Team Emirates an important victory in its home race, preceding in the bunch sprint Italian Andrea Guardini and Aussie Caleb Ewan. Thanks to this result, Kristoff wore the first overall leader jersey; in the GC, the Northwave athlete precedes Guardini and Ewan by 4 and 6 seconds, respectively.

In an exciting sprint, Kristoff followed Ewan in the final straight, coming out of the rival’s wheel in the last meters, unleashing all his power.
