Successful seasonal debut for the XCO World Champion at Internacionales Chelva (Spain). The Italian biker mastered the men’s race doing an encore after Verona MTB International
Looks like another great MTB season awaiting athletes in view of the UCI XCO World Cup’s opening stage, to be held next Saturday in Stellenbosch (South Africa). World Champion Jolanda Neff (Kross Racing Team) and the U23 European Champion Gioele Bertolini (Team Focus Selle Italia) displayed in great shape by winning the Internacionales Chelva (Spain), on Sunday March 4th,
Gioele Bertolini claimed his second seasonal win in the Mountain Bike after the brilliant debut at Verona MTB International (Italy), Sunday February 25th, whilst Jolanda Neff mastered the women’s race at the seasonal debut quickly recovering from her collarbone and elbow’s injuries.
“Gio il Bullo” completed the race in 1:40.27, outdistancing Wawak Bartolomiej (+0.08) in the ultimate lap, while Sergio Mantecon (+0.31) placed third. Ninth place for Bertolini’s teammate Andrea Tiberi.
In the women’s race, the Swiss athlete forced the pace opening the gap on the rivals in the first lap: behind the winner, Raiza Goulao (+3:35) grabbed the second place ahead of Maja Wloszczowska (+3:58).
In Spain, Neff conquered the first win in the Cross Country.
