ROGLIC’S SUPERB SEASONAL PREMIERE AT TIRRENO-ADRIATICO STAGE 3

Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s Slovenian rode to a solo win on the steep slopes of Trevi (Italy) on Friday, March 9th

Primoz Roglic wrapped his first seasonal success to top Tirreno-Adriatico’s stage 3, 234 km from Follonica to Trevi (Italy) on Friday, March 9th. He burst out from the leading group with 1.300 meters to go, on the steep slopes of the short final uphill, acting a perfect finisseur action awarded by a solo win. Adam Yates tried unsuccessfully to bridge the gap, closing second. Tiesj Benoot rounded out the podium.

Roglic scored Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s seventh seasonal victory, after Danny Van Poppel’s sprint in Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana’s opener and Dylan Groenewegen’s winning streak in Dubai Tour’s stage 1, Volta ao Algarve em Bicicleta’s first and fourth stage, Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne and Paris-Nice stage 2.
