Kanstantsin Siutsou grabs Tour of Croatia

Zagreb (Croatia), April 22nd – After Vincenzo Nibali in 2017, it is still a BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team rider to be crowned overall winner of the Tour of Croatia in St. Mark Square in Zagreb. Kanstantsin Siutsou easily defended his red leader’s jersey in the final stage 6 (151.5km from Samobor to Zagreb): “We just controlled the race and the guys did a perfect job bringing me in the front position, supporting me entering the circuit and until the end. Mohorič asked to can take his opportunities and I agreed. Then I just tried to do my best. The best way to defend is to attack. So I attacked in the last climb and everything’s went as planned. We confirmed last year win and I’m happy for the whole team, because we did a really good job this week. It has been a hard, but a beautiful week and not only in Croatia, but also in other races where we were competing. I think we’re ready for the Giro”.

Tour of Croatia ends with a 7th place of Matej Mohorič in Zagreb, after an amazing week that opens with the win of Bonifazio in stage 1st and continues with the successes of Siutsou (stage 3) and Boaro (stage 5): 3 stage wins and the win of the general classification with Siutsou earned BAHRAIN MERIDA also the title of Best Team of the Tour of Croatia.
