Equipped with a special version of his Bianchi’s TT bike, the Dutchman finished the stage in Valence, France with a one-second gap from Kwiatkowski
Jos Van Emden (Team LottoNL-Jumbo) went one-second close to victory in Critérium du Dauphiné’s prologue, 6,6 km with start and finish in Valence on Sunday, June 3rd. He rode his special Bianchi Aquila CV – featuring the exclusive “celeste” CK16 coloration and hand-painted in Italy to the second position, clocking 7:26. Michal Kwiatkowski topped the stage (7:25), while Gianni Moscon (7:28) rounded out the podium.
This year Van Emden has already been runner-up in Tirreno-Adriatico’s final stage, a 10 km ITT in San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy) on March 13th, and placed fourth in Giro d’Italia’s stage 16 in Rovereto.
Aquila CV proved a lethal weapon in the hands of LottoNL-Jumbo riders in the races against the clock. It is the revolutionary time trial machine engineered with Bianchi CV system and designed to provide more energy and more control in the riding action. TT specialist, winner of 2017 Giro d’Italia’s closure in Milan’s famous Piazza del Duomo, Van Emden was among the Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s riders who played a key role in the testing and development of Bianchi Aquila CV.
