Northwave clinches three gold medals at Track European championships

In Glasgow, Ganna won the Men’s Team Pursuit race and Wild the Women’s Scratch. Archibald, Paternoster and Brennauer secured Women’s Team Pursuit podium spots.

Northwave claimed three wins and two podium spots in UEC Track Elite European Championships’ day-2 in Glasgow on Friday, August 3rd.

Filippo Ganna took gold medal in Men’s Team Pursuit race along with Italy National Team’s countrymen Francesco Lamon, Elia Viviani and Liam Bertazzo. Italy outsprinted Switzerland in the final run, clocking 3:55”401 (against 3’59”708 of the Swiss team). The British team placed third.

Women’s Elite Pursuit race- British Katie Archibald celebrated the success with national teammates Laura Kenny, Elinor Barker, Neah Evans and Eleanor Dickinson by beating Letizia Paternoster and Italy Team. Lisa Brennauer and Germany rounded-out the podium.

Dutch Kirsten Wild called the shots once again in Women’s Scratch: Wiggle High5’s 36-year-old rider won with 600 points, ahead of Emily Kay and Jolien D’Hoore. Wearing Extreme RR as well, former World Champion Rachele Barbieri finished fourth.
