Paul was 62 years old and lived in Kampala, Uganda with his wife and children. He went to sleep last night and didn’t wake up. The cause was heart failure.

Paul was originally from Lancashire, England and spent most of his life in Uganda.
Paul, along with Phil Liggett, was the voice of the Tour de France for decades-33 years to be exact. He was always friendly, warm and kind.

He raced the TdF from 1978-1985 before becoming a broadcaster. He was also British national champion twice.
He worked as a press officer for the Motorola team in the early 1990s.

Phil Liggett said he received thousands of emails of condolence. It was Phil who invited Paul to co-host with him.
Paul was recently in Denver, Colorado visiting Wheat Ridge Cyclery.
