Team Argos Shimano has extended the contracts of Matthieu Sprick, Yann Huguet, Tom Dumoulin, Roy Curvers and Bert de Backer for several more years.
The Frenchmen Sprick (30) and Huguet (28) both have extended their contracts with one year through 2013. “I’ve noticed that I’ve been able to develop myself very good in the vicinity of this team. I enjoy the innovative way of working”, Sprick said. “I look forward to the future. I want to discover how much I can still progress together with this team.”
Huguet has not yet provided the performances he hoped for. Two years ago he broke his pelvis during a crash. “I really want to repay the team for the confidence they have shown in me in recent years.”
The contract with Dumoulin (21) was extended through 2014. The Dutchman, who recently finished seventh at the Dutch National Championships on the road, thinks Team Argos- Shimano is the right team for him. “I’m ambitious and think this is the best place for me to develop myself. I really like the professional guidance.”
Curvers (32) and De Backer (28) have both extended their contracts through 2014. Curvers is happy at the team. “I’m very proud of the steps this team has made and I’m glad I’ve been able to contribute. I’m looking forward to keep doing that in the future. I feel at home here.”
De Backer is delighted with his contract extension. “I’m pleased and honored that the team wants to continue with me. I look forward to continue working on this great project.”
