Armstrong Interview with Oprah Preview

Lance Armstrong taped his interview with Oprah Winfrey yesterday at a hotel in Austin, TX for 2 1/2 hours that will be edited down to 90 minutes.  He is supposed to be interviewed some more today.

Rumors are swirling about what took place during the interview.  The New York Times is reporting that Lance did confess to having doped during his career but so did pretty much everyone else in the peloton.

Peloton Post has been researching doping in cycling and an has found a lot of interesting history.  A big story will be posted soon.

Armstrong is supposedly going to be available to testify against some “powerful people int he sport of cycling who knew about his doping and possibly facilitated it” according to the Times article.  He is also said to testify against the UCI but will not testify against any other riders.

He’s in discussions with the US Department of Justice to possibly participate in a whistle blower case which could be against the former USPS team owner Thom Weisel.

Lance wants to be able to compete in triathlons again.  Supposedly Travis Tygart would be interested in mitigating the ban if Lance talks.

Lance apologized to his staff at Livestrong before going to the interview.  It was said to have been very emotional.  He hadn’t been to the headquarters since October 21 when he had to resign.
