Astana’s show at Tour of the Alps: Pello Bilbao wins in Folgaria


The Spaniard is the first overall leader of the euroregional stage race, started today from Arco. Fellow Astana teammate Sanchez came in second, Colombian Ivan Sosa third

Astana’s Pello Bilbao took the opening stage of the 2018 Tour of the Alps, 134,6 Km from Arco to Folgaria. The Spaniard launched his attack on the final descent, soloing to the finish line in Folgaria, and taking the overall leadership.

Behind the winner, Luis Leon Sanchez claimed the second place (+0.04), completing an Astana one-two. Colombian youngster Ivan Ramiro Sosa (Androni Sidermec) finished third.
