Ben O’Connor: “I’m proud of all my teammates”
“The teams tried to make it hard today, and I was glad to come through it well. I felt really good, and I’m proud of all my teammates for finishing off these twenty days with a really strong result today. They supported me all day, and Felix (Gall) did a great job pacing the climb at the end, something I probably should have done throughout the race, so it was nice to get it right. Tomorrow, it’s just me against the clock, doing my best to make sure I get on the final podium.”
Cyril Dessel: “A great day for the team”
“This queen stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a España, on the eve of the time trial in Madrid, was naturally very tough. We sent a rider up front to act as a support for Ben in the final, and Clément (Berthet) had a great day by making it into the breakaway. The boys once again fought with great teamwork around Ben. We saw an excellent performance from Felix (Gall) in the final, who helped Ben manage the last climb really well and hold onto his second place in the overall standings, so it’s been a great day for the team.”
