Benoît Cosnefroy Winner of the Coupe de France

Benoît Cosnefroy: “We had a great year in the Coupe de France”

“It’s a great reward to win the overall standings of the Coupe de France. These are races I enjoy, with final circuits where the crowd always shows up and a special atmosphere. After coming close in 2019 and then 2020 (twice second), I’m happy to finally win it. We had a great year in the Coupe de France with Paul’s (Lapeira) second place. Not to forget the team victory, I’m obviously very happy on a personal level this season, and this ranking is a reward for the whole team.”

Like Paul Seixas’ place at the Junior European Championships. Starting with the French national team selection, Paul managed to break away with two other riders. He finished third on the podium after a sprint against his breakaway companions.

Hegemony in the Coupe de France:
With Benoît Cosnefroy’s victory, Paul Lapeira’s second place, and the best young rider classification, the Coupe de France season has been a great success. Not to mention the six victories shared between these two riders, which allow the team to win the overall team classification. This victory rewards the collective effort, always present in the Coupe de France races, as shown by Pierre Gautherat, who finished fourth in the final round at the Grand Prix d’Isbergues.
