Lisa Rabensteiner silver medallist among Elite Women Elite, Andrea Tiberi bronze among Men in Genoa (Italy)
Gold, silver and bronze: Northwave took one of each kind at the XCO Italian Championships in Genoa with Gioiele Bertolini (CS Esercito), Lisa Rabensteiner (Focus XC) and Andrea Tiberi (Team Nob Selle Italia) respectively, all equipped with Extreme XC shoes.
Bertolini confirmed himself as the Men’s Under 23 Italian champion, taking a solo win with a 51-second advantage on Nadir Colledani and 1:26 on Francesco Bonetto. The biker from Lombardy speeded up his pace halfway through the race, before managing his advantage in the final lap. Bertolini extended his streak to four Italian titles in a row, considering Cyclocross and XCO National championships.
At lunch time, Lisa Rabensteiner was runner-up in the Women Elite race, behind Serena Calvetti and ahead of Gaia Ravaioli.
Finally, Andrea Tiberi claimed a bronze medal in the Men’s Elite race, after competing in the top positions through the whole effort. The experienced rider finished 51 seconds behind Gerhard Kerschbaumer, who preceded Luca Braidot.
