Northwave retains the crown of the Italian cyclocross: Gioele Bertolini took the baton from Marco Aurelio Fontana at the Italian Cyclocross National Championships, in Monte Prat (Northern Italy), taking his first career Elite title on Sunday January 10th.
Equipped by Northwave with Extreme XC shoes, the 20-year-old of the Guerciotti-Selle Italia Team dominated the race, preceding veteran Enrico Franzoi (Wilier Force) and another athlete sponsored by Northwave, Cristian Cominelli (Promo Cycling).
In addition, Pavla Havlikova (MRM-Avalon) grazed the win in the Women Elite race at the Czech National Championships, placing second behind Martina Mikulaskova. Fourth place for Michael Vanthourenhout (Marlux Napoleon Games) and Extreme Tech MTB Plus at the Belgian National Championships dominated by Wout Van Aert (Vastgoedservice) ahead of Laurens Sweeck (Corendon) and Sven Nys (Crelan).
