BIANCHI AND TEAM LOTTO.NL-JUMBO EYE SUCCESS IN VUELTA A ESPANA

Kruijswijk leads the nine-man squad at the Spanish Grand Tour from August 19th to September 10th

The last Grand Tour of the season, the Vuelta a Espana, will start on Saturday, August 19th with a 13,7 km Team Time Trial in Nîmes (France) and finish on Sunday, September 10th in Madrid (Spain). Team LottoNL-Jumbo, equipped with Bianchi high-performance bikes featuring Countervail® technology, eyes success through the 21 days of one of the World’s biggest stage race.

The race route, with nine uphill finishes, suits well Steven Kruijswijk’s climbing skills. The 30-year-old Dutchman – fourth overall at the 2016 Giro d’Italia, with five days in pink jersey – recently displayed his good shape in the mountain stages of the Tour de l’Ain and will be the team headliner. New Zealander George Bennett – 10th last year at the Vuelta a Espana and overall winner of the 2017 Amgen Tour of California – will be a key support for Kruijswijk’s GC ambitions but he could also aim for stage wins, while Spaniard Juan José Lobato, fresh stage winner at the Tour de l’Ain, will be the team’s card for the sprint finishes.

Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s line-up for the 2017 Vuelta a Espana: George Bennett, Koen Bouwman, Stef Clement, Floris De Tier, Steven Kruijswijk, Bert-Jan Lindeman, Juan José Lobato, Daan Olivier and Antwan Tolhoek.
