BMC ReNews Four Riders for 2013

Martin Kohler, Steve Morabito, Michael Schär and Danilo Wyss will continue to ride for the BMC Racing Team in 2013. President/General Manager Jim Ochowicz announced contract extensions Thursday for those Swiss riders.

Valuable Contributors

Kohler – the reigning Swiss national road champion – and Wyss have been a part of the BMC Racing Team since the 2008 season while Morabito and Schär came on board in 2010. Ochowicz said each has made significant contributions that make them valuable contributors in races from the grand tours to the classics. “We’re extremely pleased with the roles they have played over the past year, whether it was leading the Santos Tour Down Under for a few days like Martin, finishing runner-up at the Tour of Austria like Steve did in July, or helping support our team leaders in races like the Tour de France,” Ochowicz said. Kohler’s season highlights include earning the Swiss national road title a year after winning the national time trial championship. Morabito was second overall at the Tour of Austria, Schär played an integral role in helping Cadel Evans win the Tour de France last year and Wyss was runner-up on Stage 1 of the Critérium International in March.
