BMC Staff to London

The BMC Racing Team will send seven riders and six staff members to the Olympic Games in London, President Jim Ochowicz announced Monday.

Road Race and Time Trial Participants

BMC Racing Team riders participating in the 250-kilometer road race Saturday are Cadel Evans (AUS), Philippe Gilbert (BEL), Taylor Phinney (USA), Marco Pinotti (ITA), Michael Schär (SUI), Greg Van Avermaet (BEL) and Tejay van Garderen (USA). Gilbert and Phinney will also represent their countries in the 44 km time trial on Aug. 1. Additionally, the BMC Racing Team will have four staffers working for the U.S. Olympic team: Michael Sayers (director), Kevin Grove and Ian Sherburne (mechanics) and Chris De Vos (soigneur). Working for the Belgian Olympic team will be manual therapists David Bombeke and Anthony Pauwels. “We’re proud of all our athletes and staff who have been selected to represent their national federations in London,” Ochowicz said. “We wish them all the best for a successful competition and to enjoy the Olympic experience.”
