First seasonal success for Androni-Sidermec’s rider with Northwave Extreme Tech Plus
Androni-Sidermec and Francesco Chicchi, sponsored by Northwave, claimed a strong success in Settimana Internazionale di Coppi e Bartali’s stage 3 (Calderara di Reno – Crevalcore 173 Km), preceding Southeast’s Manuel Belletti and Fantini – Nippo’s Daniele Colli in a massive sprint.
Equipped with Extreme Tech Plus shoes, the Italian rider took the first seasonal win, whilst another Northwave’s athlete, Polish Bartlomiej Matysiak (CCC-Sprandi), placed fifth on the finish line. In addition, Team Colombia-Coldeportes’ Carlos Julian Quintero maintained the fourth overall, 1:15 behind Brit Ben Swift (Team Sky), with one stage to go.
In Spain, in Vuelta a Catalunya’s stage 6 (Cervera – Port Aventura 194,1 Km), Polish Maciej Paterski (CCC-Sprandi) grazed the second stage win placing third after a long breakaway behind Russian Sergei Chernetckii (Katusha) and French Julian Alaphilippe (Etixx-Quick Step).
