Chris Froome is the new race leader on stage 5 of the Dauphine.
He won atop Montee du Vaujanay ahead of Richie Porte. He’s now ahead of former leader Contador by 21 seconds. Froome attacked forcefully towards the top of the climb. All his rivals except Porte fell away.
Tomorrow will be a really tough day. The queen stage will have four climbs, including the Col de la Madeleine with the finish at the summit of Meribel.
