Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France commented on Operation Puerto. He regrets that the other sports besides cycling are not being diclosed in the Operation Puerto trial in Madrid.
“Everyone has understood that there were not only cyclists. From the outset the names of cyclists were known. We never knew until then, and perhaps will not ever, the names of the others. The sport of cycling has sinned much, and when we make mistakes, we must first sweep in front of our door. But we have a small part of the truth of the matter and it would be a shame after the trial if the truth does not burst out.
” All cheats, all liars are obviously not together in the sport of cycling. There is no barrier arising between cycling and other sports for some products. Great people in all disciplines…there are cheaters, not just in cycling. If all were made equal, it would satisfy me.“
