Claude Criquillon Dies of a Brain Hemmorhage

Claude Criquillon passed away yesterday after suffering a cerebral vascular accident.  He was 58. His racing career went from 1979 to 1991.   He was taken to the hospital on Sunday and died today.

He was deputy mayor in the Belgian city of Lessines.

While racing he had 60 wins.  Those included world champion on the road in 1984 in Barcelona, the Tour of Flanders (1987), the Clasica San Sebastian (1983), two Walloon Arrow (1985 and 1989) and the Tour de Romandie (1986).
