Alberto Contador has been provisionally suspended by the Spanish Cycling Federation for one year for his clenbuterol positive doping control.  He will most likely be stripped of his 2010 Tour de France title but that has not been announced as of yet.  Contador has maintained his innocence and it’s expected that he will appeal.  He has ten days to do so.  He will be holding a press conference tomorrow, Friday in Mallorca where he is training with his Saxo Bank team.  The UK Guardian has suggested that the process could take a long time and might not be resolved before the start of this summer’s Tour.  They say that he’s “enlisted 13 different scientific reports to back” up his claims. The UK Guardian also reported that the federal inquiry to the Lance Armstrong troubles are also “close to a decision whether or not to issue any indictments.”
