In the U23 Cross-Country race, the New Zealand youngster, equipped with Extreme Tech MTB Plus, the latest Northwave top-range off-road model, preceded in a strong head-to-head the Frenchman Victor Koretzky, whilst Brit Grant Ferguson took the bronze medal.
Winner of the Cross-Country National Championships, Cannondale-Factory’s biker moved on the attack in the first lap together with Koretzky. Another Northwave’s athlete, Italian Gioele Bertolini, placed sixth with a good recovery in the second part of the race. Equipped with Extreme Tech MTB Plus shoes, Skeleton gloves and Extreme Tech Plus socks, the rider of Team Merida Italia crossed the finish line 2:39 behind the winner.
Northwave grazed the podium even in the U23 women’s race thanks to Malene Degn’s talent. The Danish biker finished in fourth place, as Swiss Ramona Forchini clinched victory ahead of Russian Olga Terentyeva and Swedish Jenny Rissveds.
