Daniel Geismayr is the New Roc Marathon Champion


Geismayr took a prestigious win in France

Austrian Daniel Geismayr closed in style a season in which he proved capable to challenge at the highest level through the MTB Marathon calendar. After the success at Bike Transalp in July, the Bronze medallist at the Marathon World Championships achieved another prestigious win at the Roc Marathon, the tough and spectacular event of the UCI Marathon Series challenge, staged in Frejus (France), on Friday October 6th.

Centurion Vaude’s 28-year-old biker brought his Northwave Extreme XC shoes to the top spot of the podium, completing his effort in 3.52:18. Behind the winner, the Marathon World Champion, Austrian Alban Lakata, and Italian Fabian Rabensteiner crossed the finish line in second and third place respectively at 2:48 and 3:04.

At Km 30, the Austrian Champion chased the solo escapee, Colombian Leonardo Paez, then taking over the lead of the race for a wonderful solo win.
