Reactions: Démare: “Immense team work”. Almeida: “Frenzied stage”
Demare now equals Bernard Hinault with four wins in the same edition of the Giro.
“A truly exceptional victory, the fourth in this Giro d’Italia. My teammates did an immense job to mend the breakaway and we slowly recovered. I’m very happy.” Arnaud Démare is radiant after winning the 11th stage of the Giro d’Italia, 182 km from Porto Sant’Elpidio to Rimini.
Another day in the pink jersey for the leader Joao Almeida, of Deceuninck-Quick-Step: “Today the first part was pretty easy, while the second part of the race was hectic. Tomorrow’s stage is wavy, but I want to try to keep the jersey. There will be attacks but we are prepared. I don’t think I can gain seconds over the others, but if I don’t lose I’m happy. “
