On Saturday, March 5th, Eurosport will fuel the passion of cycling fans by launching a new series featuring Swiss legend Fabian Cancellara as he embarks on his final season on the professional circuit.
#FOLLOWFABIAN will give viewers the inside story of the Trek-Segafredo rider’s life away from the tarmac and will tell emotional tales of glory and disaster from an extraordinary 16-year career.
The #FOLLOWFABIAN series will feature six 12-minute episodes shown on Eurosport’s TV channels as well as Eurosport Player, the live and on-demand digital platform, over the next six months as Cancellara bids to bow out of the sport in style.
The programmes will feature behind-the-scenes footage and revealing interviews with Cancellara, who will give viewers an intimate insight into the character and commitment required to stay in cycling’s elite group of competitors for more than a decade.
In the first episode, Cancellara takes the cameras into his private room packed full of bikes and keepsakes from his career and reflects on the dizzying triumphs and crushing lows whilst also outlining his hopes for 2016 and his candid fears of the challenges of retirement.
“The last year has to be special,” Cancellara said. “It will be about reaching the highest level possible, but I also want to talk about other things and give something back. I have a lot of stories and memories to share, so follow me and you will see where we go.”
