Evenepoel – Olympic Champ

He took his eighth win of the season in a dazzling display.

He achieved glory in the most beautiful city in the world for the second time in the space of just a week, after blasting to an incredible victory at the end of a memorable race that cemented his status as one of the best riders in history.

It was a huge exhibition of panache – a masterpiece as he continued his exceptional season on a course around iconic Montmartre – one of the most bohemian and charming neighborhoods in the world and the place where the famous impressionists of Degas, Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet and Picasso created their artistic heritage.

After taking third overall and winner of the white jersey at the Tour de France last month, Evenepoel, on the series of short but hard climbs in one of the longest races of the year, he rode everyone off his wheel and arrived alone at the finish line, 200 meters from the Eiffel Tower. He had time to celebrate a resounding triumph and a magnificent and unique double for a male rider at the prestigious competition.

Silver and bronze medals went to Madouas and LaPorte.
