Floyd Landis Coming Clean

Floyd Landis

Floyd Landis has finally come clean and is ready to name names.  In an interview with ESPN he said he doped mostly all of his career and so did everyone else. It has cost him his marriage, his career, all his money and his reputation.  His mother has convinced him to tell the truth.

He admitted to taking EPO, male and female hormones, testosterone, frequent blood transfusions and insulin for most of his career.  He began doping in 2002 with the USPS team and continued with Phonak. He spent about $90,000 a year on doping products.

He’s ready to implicate dozens of others including former teammates and directors sportifs.  In the Wall Street Journal, he claims to have started doping under Johann Bruyneel.  He has said to have had long discussions with Lance Armstrong during training rides about the need for transfusions to cover the doping tests.  He’s implicated Hincapie, Leipheimer, and Zabriske.  According to the WSJ he’s also accused Armstrong of paying international cycling officials to cover up a positive test. UCI’s Pat McQuaid claims to not believe anything Landis says.

He knows he’s dropped a bomb and there will be repercussions.  After 4 years of lying he’s glad to relieve his conscience.
