The Italian Pro-rider won the Selle SMP Master Cross round 4 after a strong duel with Luca Braidot.
Marco Aurelio Fontana achieved the first CX seasonal success at 12th Trofeo Città di Gorizia, fourth round of the international challenge Selle SMP Master Cross, on Saturday December 10th.
Despite being only the second race of his 2016/2017 cyclocross season, Cannondale Factory Racing Team’s athlete equipped with Northwave Extreme XC shoes quickly arose at the forefront. Fontana preceded G.S. Forestale’s Luca Braidot and Mirko Tabacchi, second and third respectively on the finish line.
Fontana showed his good shape in the early part of the race with a strong breakaway alongside Braidot. The duo led the race until the finale, characterized by the decisive attack of the 2012 OG bronze medal who crossed the finish line 12 seconds ahead of Braidot.
