GROENEWEGEN SPRINTS TO WIN IN TOUR DE YORKSHIRE OPENER

Dylan Groenewegen (Team LottoNL-Jumbo) scored his maiden victory of 2017 topping Tour de Yorkshire’s opener, 174 km from Bridlington to Scarborough (UK) on Friday, April 28th. The Dutch national champion won a thrilling head-to-head with Australian Caleb Ewan. Brit Chris Opie rounded out the podium. Groenewegen is therefore the first GC leader of the 3-day race: today the riders will finish their effort in Harrogate, before heading to the Fox Valley on Sunday.

Runner-up in the GC and winner of the Youth classification at 2017 Dubai Tour, Dylan Groenewegen had two seconds and two third places to his name so far in the season.
